Styling Librarian: Whatever Wednesday, Oct 10, 2012 Pinterest and hedgehogs
Here’s my third “Whatever Wednesday” post… I shared other things in the past that tickled my fancy, but I appreciate my twitter and Facebook friend David Etkin’s ( @davidaetkin ) Whatever Wednesday meme and thought it would be fun to reflect on one thing each week that really catches my attention, entertains me, and is special enough I just have to share it with the world.
Unfortunately, I often worry about copyright and share favorite pictures only on my Facebook pages… So I’ll probably share my favorite YouTube video of the week every week: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Styling-Librarian/253190371415435
Here’s my Whatever Wednesday Randomness:
I think I needed a little down time, at least my brain demanded such yesterday. So I created my official “Hedgehog” page on Pinterest. Bliss. Happiness. Distraction complete. (I adore hedgehogs. I had one for many years whom I named Oscar (he was a grouch). He was a pet I felt guilty the whole time owning because I always wanted to make his living condition better. So I got him a two story plexiglass home with holes in the sides that I connected to PVC tubes which connected to a open running space with cardboard climbing/snuffling creations, etc. I gave him to a student/family when I moved into an apartment because I hoped they would have more space with them, which they did. In any case. I have a HUGE hedgehog collection, which I left in storage in Oregon and I only have a few hedgehog puppets that my son loves playing with here in Hong Kong.) So, I think that is another reason for my obsessive pinning…

Hexaflexagons PART 2!!!: Vi Hart - I repeat from last week: anyone want to boost their brain power? You should watch a video created by Vi Hart. She is brilliant, entertaining, fascinating, worthy of every minute you watch.
I met with a fellow Hong Kong teacher librarian @tgaletti today and took away the coolest new online resource tool– already using it, loving it, wondering how I ever lived without it:

Thank you again to “Eat the Book” for the Whatever Wednesday meme: http://mretome.wordpress.com David Etkin’s words: “Whatever Wednesday — a chance to post something I’ve seen that I’m diggin’. Though often a cool quote or poster, it might simply be a picture.”

I love geometric papercrafts, so the hexaflexagon is right up my alley. Also, do you know that a lot of
book publicists have Pinterest accounts now?
Amazing how many Pinterest users there are now…
