The Styling Librarian

In my opinion, books are the best accessory.

Styling Librarian: It’s Monday! What are you reading? 3/26/12

Busy week and now on to Spring Break reading time!

Here’s the inspiration behind this post/meme: Thanks to Jen and Kellee for the inspiration!

So here’s a simple viewing of what I’ve been reading:

Three books that inspired me this past week:

Regarding the Bees: A Lesson, in Letters, on Honey, Dating, and Other Sticky Subjects by Kate and M. Sarah Klise

Frankie Pickle and the Pine Run 3000
by Eric Wight
I already posted about this book here: Styling Librarian Chapter Book Fun

Henry’s Heart: A Boy, His Heart, and a New Best Friend
by Charise Mericle Harper – Cute information shared throughout. I loved the mingled information with the story. The heart having a voice was quite fun to read aloud.

Two audiobooks I finished up:

The Tale of Despereaux by Kate diCamillo- this is my 3rd reading of this brilliant book: Don’t think I’ll ever tire of it. Really enjoyed the audiobook version. Looking forward to watching the movie adaptation of this with my son, he claims that he hasn’t seen it (I remember watching it with him twice…)

Pretty Monsters: Stories by Kelly Link- Collection of short stories that were a mixed bag for me, really was impressed with some stories that stuck with me like: Magic for Beginners and The Surfer but wasn’t too thrilled with many of the other ones. It took me months to bring it in to finish listening to the last story…

Book I’m in the middle of- trying so hard to get invested in since I’ve loved reading Ellen Potter in the past: The Kneebone Boy by Ellen Potter

Reblogged this on Top Books in My World and commented:

Sharing to Ridgewood folks. This is in lieu of my normal monthly book update.

Kneebone Boy is worth finishing- you can do it!🙂

Frankie Pickle and the Pine Run 3000 is the last Frankie Pickle book I need to buy- it is on my list of boys along with the New Big Nate and Fake Mustache.

    Happy reading this week!!

I just picked up the new Big Nate and have Fake Mustache waiting at the bookstore for my attention (along with other treasures, can’t wait!) I did love reading Fake Mustache and can’t wait to share it with my students. Kneebone Boy was really worth finishing, enjoyed it last night and today! Thanks for the encouragement!🙂

  3. I like the Regarding the…series. The bee one looks fun. I love Frankie Pickle! We enjoy him at our house and have read all of them. I loved The Kneebone Boy and I totally didn’t expect the ending to be what it was. I thought the characters were fun, I love siblings who look out for each other as they do. I hope you get into it and keep it up…but not every book is for everyone.

Loved The Kneebone Boy, I agree- quite the ending… Just had to make quality time with it!
